The Eiken

Eiken is an English language test conducted by the Eiken Foundation of Japan and is supported by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.

At the junior high school level, some Japanese students take this test up to Eiken 3 or even up to Eiken Pre-2/Eiken 2 to get into their high school of their choice. They could also simply have an interest in improving their English skills. So, as teachers, we would like them to be aware of the resources that are available for them, provide sufficient preparation and coaching, and give as much support to meet their needs.
