その時とき、大おおきな音おとが聞きこえました。巨人きょじんが帰かえってきたのです。女おんなの人ひとは急いそいでジャックを部屋へやの中なかに隠かくしました。「ここに隠かくれて！見みつかると巨人きょじんに食たべられるよ。」巨人きょじんはお城しろの中なかに入はいると、言いいました。「今日きょうは疲つかれたから、すぐに寝ねよう。」巨人きょじんはお金かねを机つくえに置おいて、自じ分ぶんの部屋へやに行いきました。ジャックは巨人きょじんが寝ねたのを見みると、隠かくれるのを止やめました。そして、机つくえの上うえのお金かねを取とって逃にげました。お城しろから豆まめの木きまで走はしり、豆まめの木きをすべって家いえに帰かえりました。それからジャックとお母かあさんはそのお金かねで生活せいかつしました。しかし、しばらくすると、そのお金かねをすべて使つかってしまいました。だから、ジャックはもういちど、豆まめの木きを登のぼることにしました。

English Translation

At the time, a big sound was heard. The giant was back. The woman hid Jack in a room in a hurry. “Hide here! If you are found, you will be eaten by the giant.” When the giant entered the castle, he said, “I’m tired today, so I’m going to bed right away.” The giant put his money on a desk and went to his room. When Jack saw that the giant went to bed, he stopped hiding himself. And, he took the money on the desk and ran away. He ran from the castle to the beanstalk and slid down the beanstalk and went home. Then, Jack and his mother lived on the money. But, after a while, they used up all the money. So, Jack decided to climb the beanstalk once again.
