「最初さいしょにおれがやってみるよ」。北風きたかぜはそう言いって、強つよい風かぜを吹ふきました。男おとこは急きゅうに吹ふいた強つよい風かぜにおどろきました。北風きたかぜはどんどん風かぜを吹ふきます。風かぜを吹ふいて、マントを飛とばすつもりです。「寒さむい！どうして急きゅうに風かぜが強つよくなったんだ？」男おとこはそう言いうと、もう一枚いちまいマントを出だして、急いそいで着きました。北風きたかぜは二に枚まいのマントを脱ぬがせるために、もっと強つよく風かぜを吹ふきました。男おとこはマントが飛とばないように、しっかりと手てで持もちました。北風きたかぜがいくら強つよく風かぜを吹ふいても、男おとこは一いっ生しょう懸命けんめい手てでマントを持もっています。北風きたかぜは言いいました。「だめだ。おれの力ちからではマントを脱ぬがせることができない。」

English Translation
